Album Cover for Mr. Thr3z
I was given free range to create an album cover for the artist known as Mr. Thr3z. The album marks a time in the artists life where things were changing and families were being blended. The warrior is a representation of the artists wife, she is featured in several songs on the album.
I like the idea of using words for the album with a bright shining light coming from behind. The sword of protection model I was working on at the time had enough of a silhouette on it to be distinguishable.
The pose of the character neede to be a strong pose. Several poses were tried, but I settled with this pose because I liked the way that the sword cut through the ‘i’ in the word ‘Rise.’

Ascending the Eternal Flame is one of my favorite songs from the album.
The Environment
It is a fairly simple environment, those bounding boxes are for the fog. I needed to add more to the sword to make it look better.
The words also needed a cutout mask for the effect that I was looking for on the backlighting.
